Choose a real gap
We look for real dishes with clear search intent where existing English-language results are sparse, dated, incomplete or difficult for a home cook to use.
Why Gastromica exists
Gastromica is a living culinary field guide for dishes with genuine cultural roots and unanswered practical questions.
Editorial standards
We look for real dishes with clear search intent where existing English-language results are sparse, dated, incomplete or difficult for a home cook to use.
We compare cultural references and multiple published recipe approaches, call out regional variation, and avoid presenting one household version as the only authentic answer.
Ingredients are measured in US and metric units. Methods include sensory cues, failure points, substitutions and storage advice. Each page is presented as a Research Edition—not as a perfected or universally definitive recipe.
We do not invent reader ratings, reviews or personal ancestry. The current collection is research-developed. “Community Cooked” and “Gastromica Tested” are earned statuses that appear only after the corresponding cooking and documentation exist.
Most dish images are human-shot photographs used under commercial-use-compatible Creative Commons or public-domain terms, with creator, source and license credits on each page. When an exact reusable photograph is unavailable, we retain a clearly labeled AI-generated editorial illustration. Neither is presented as proof of Gastromica kitchen testing.
The invitation
Gastromica presents practical interpretations for curious home cooks. Regional and household versions differ, so each page explains its choices and avoids claiming to be the single definitive version. Your kitchen is where the learning becomes real.
